After going 9-3 last season, NC State is looking to continue its ascent towards the top of the ACC. Coach Dave Doeren has the program going in the right direction. NC State finds itself not only in contention for an ACC title but potentially as one of the favorites.
Most sportsbooks have NC State’s season wins total set at 8.5. The Wolfpack’s conference championship odds are floating around +900, which are their best odds to win an ACC title in recent memory.
If the legislative pace picks up, there is a chance sports fans will be able to bet on NC State this season with legal NC sports betting due to launch. For now, however, the only in-state options are two retail sportsbooks at Harrah’s casinos.

NC State Wolfpack 2022 Outlook
After being a question mark last year, the quarterback spot is rock solid. Devin Leary will lead the way for the Wolfpack. Last year, Leary had a strong running back duo to lean on while he not so quietly broke out by throwing for 3,433 yards and 35 touchdowns with five interceptions.
Leary also had excellent blindside protection from Ikem Ekwonu, who got drafted sixth overall by the Carolina Panthers. To continue the parade of solid players who have moved on to the NFL, Leary will need to find a new go-to target as Emeka Emezie — the Wolfpack’s all-time leading receiver — is gone as well.
The good news is, though, now Leary has proven himself. The quarterback spot in Raleigh is a position of strength, and his experience and talent should help bring along some of the Wolfpack’s new pieces.
The Wolfpack defense has been up and down, but if it can show a slight improvement, it is not crazy to think that double digits win are possible this season. A significant positive is that NC State starts with what should be two easy opponents in East Carolina and Charleston Southern.
Two games against Power 5 teams Texas Tech and UConn should also be wins for NC State. The Wolfpack should be 4-0 going into their fifth game. It could potentially be one of the biggest games in program history when the Wolfpack play at Clemson on Oct. 1.

Betting Recommendation
Call me crazy, but I could see the Wolfpack making a run at 10 or 11 wins and feel pretty good about telling bettors to take the over. At -145, DraftKings price for over is the best odds. DraftKings also the best odds to bet on NC State to win the ACC at +1100.
